How do I move Clarity (or Clarity Lite) to a new PC?

Yes — you can move Clarity or Clarity Lite to a new PC.
The license is tied to the HW key, so the software can be installed on another computer, but it will only run with the correct HW key connected.

Recommended procedure:

1. Get the installation package - the latest version can be downloaded from our website, www.dataapex.com, section Downloads; you need to be registered and logged in.
2. Plug in the HW key.
3. Install the software on a new computer.
   • Ensure all necessary drivers and control modules are installed – some may not be included in the Typical installation.
   • Enter the user code matching the HW key.
4. Connect the hardware (MultiCOM, A/D Converter, etc.).
5. Copy your settings and data into the appropriate files.
   • Copy the system files (Clarity.cfg, *.dsk, Clarity.psw) from the old computer to the Clarity\cfg folder on the new PC.
   • Copy the data files (including the Projects and Common) from the old computer to the Clarity\Datafiles folder on the new PC.

You can also use the Archive/Restore function (not available in Clarity Lite) to transfer the required data files to the new PC.
