Direct connection between chromatograph and PC realized over LAN without switch

In case your PC and chromatograph is connected directly via LAN and autodetect is not possible, use the following configuration.

  • Note that you need cross-over ethernet cable  (straight-through cable is not recommended).
  • Open Control Panel - Network and Internet - Network and Sharing Center - Change adapter settings - right mouse click on the Local Area Connection and choose Properties.
  • In the Local Area Connection Properties, choose item Internet Protocol Version 4 and click the Properties button.
  • In the Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) Properties window change use the option to Use the following IP address.
  • Fill the IP address. The first three possitions define the network and must be the same as in the device IP address. The last position defines the device and must be unique within the network, so it must be set different from that of the connected instrument.
  • Eventually other Ethernet boards within the computer must not share the same network.
  • Subnet mask needs to be 255.255.255.0
