No data from acquisition for 10 sec

A message “No data from acquisition for 10 sec” or “No Data received for 10 sec” appears during data acquisition. It indicates that no data were received from a detector or A/D converter (e.g. Colibrick) due to a temporary communication interruption between the device and the computer.

The most common cause is a problem on the computer side, such as processor overload or background operations (e.g. network search or backup) blocking communication. The issue may occur more frequently on slower computers and can stop the acquisition or interrupt a sequence. It may also be caused by interfering software, especially antivirus programs scanning Clarity data files (raw, prm, audit, tmp) or applications monitoring removable media. In some cases, Windows power management may disable the USB hub, resulting in loss of connection to the device.

To remedy this, try to:

  • resend the method to restore communication,
  • reduce system load and close unnecessary applications during acquisition,
  • configure antivirus software to exclude Clarity data file types (raw, prm, audit, tmp) and disable interfering software.

For devices connected via USB:

  • disconnect and reconnect the USB hub,
  • check USB power management settings in Device ManagerUniversal Serial Bus controllersGeneric USB HubPower Management tab and disable the option Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power,
  • ensure sufficient power is available to the connected device (e.g. use an active USB cable, a powered USB hub, or connect the device via a USB-C port).
