Device connected via LAN does not communicate after PC restart
After restarting the PC, communication with a LAN-connected device may be lost.
Clarity stores the IP address of a device detected during the autodetection process in the instrument configuration. Some devices use IP adress assigned by DHCP server in default settings. If the IP address changes, communication with the device is lost and Auto Detect must be performed again.
To ensure stable communication:
- When connecting the system directly to the computer or via a switch, configure static IP addresses both in the device and in the computer network adapter (recommended).
- Refer to the device manual or contact the device manufacturer/supplier for instructions on setting a static IP address.
If a router or an internal network is used, DHCP addressing may be applied, but it is necessary to ensure that assigned IP addresses remain unchanged (e.g., by DHCP reservation or cooperation with the network administrator).
